About UsWhat we're trying to solve: -Sugarcoated job descriptions. -Inflated job expectations. -New employee attrition. The purpose of a job description is to give a candidate as much information about the job as possible so that they can make an informed decision about their suitability for the job. However, the typical job description does not provide the candidate with a realistic preview of that position. Job descriptions should include information regarding shift work, special characteristics of the job, hours, specific requirements, a "typical" day on the job, etc. Job descriptions need more detailed descriptions of a position and much less sugarcoating. We're compiling a database of job descriptions written by the working community, not a company's Human Resource department. But don't get us wrong, you, the employee will be doing the majority of the work, we know this, and we thank you. Not only do we appreciate this, but we know the thousands of recent graduates and entry level candidates also appreciate your efforts as well. How we're going to solve these issues? We're collecting job descriptions written from the prospective of the employee. There is no better person to ask about the in's and out's of a job than the an employee that is in or has been in a particular position. We'd like to have staff on standby 24/7 to answer detailed questions about every conceivable job, but that just isn't practical. So we are asking the working community to contribute what they can and hope that their contributions help someone make the correct career path the first time around. |
